AM-54T-55
Ares Mythologic Miniatures
54mm white metal
9 parts
sculpted by Eduard Perez
painted by Jose Jarque

This is the second figure Jose Jarque sent me and was again well packaged with the 9 parts in a separate bag sandwiched between a thick piece of foam.

The box art photo as well as a separate photo inside act as the painting guide and additional views are available on Ares’ web site.

The kit encompasses 9 parts including a white metal base. The left leg is a separate part and dry fits into the socket in the body with a tight fit. Very little seam line are present. The cloak is well sculpted with an additional piece that fits behind and below the right arm. The muscle anatomy is exceptional in the legs and will surely draw attention to this area.

The sculpting of the helmet is in 2 parts with the crest to be attached at the top. The face ( hard to see in the photo ) has a clearly defined open mouth ( as if he were yelling a Thracian Battle Cry ) and the eyes are also clearly well defined.

The shield is well designed and has a tear in the covering cloth that shows the interior working of the shield. Excellent detail to add to realism.

Overall this is an excellent figure with crisp detail and attention to drapery and folds. Dry fitting all the parts ensured that all parts fit well with no filling required. I would recommend this figure to any interested in this period.

Another nice review of the Ares Mythologic figs. I've been keeping an eye on Jose' company... they've got some really interesting stuff coming out at the moment :)

I'm amazing by the level of detail.... it's excellent! I wonder how they did that mould for the head AND managed to maintain all that detail.... I expected a 3 piece for the helmet, not a 2 piece...

Thanks Guy

Cheers
Rudi ;)

Excellent pics Guy!!! Did you get a new camera?
Thanks Anders. I got a new Fuji S3100 last spring and I am still learning how to use it .

Thanks for this review, Guy. I was acquainted with this company, but wasn't up the matter that they delivered such nice figures. This is one for the (ever expanding) list.

Best regards

Johan
