Hi Guys.
My name is Roy Sutherland, and I am the owner and president of Barracuda Studios, a small company that manufactures resin , decals and books, mostly for aircraft modelers.
I have worked in the hobby and modelmaking business since 1990. I have worked for a number of professional model shops here in California, including M5 studios (where they film Mythbusters), Industrial Light and Magic Modelshop (before it closed down some 10 years ago), Image Movers Digital model shop and a number of others. I have also worked for a number of toy companies including 21st Century Toys, where I oversaw the development of their entire military collectibles line (including figures in 3 scales) before the company folded after the 2008 crash.
In between these various jobs, I have run my own companies: Cooper Details, which started in 1990 and closed up before the turn of the century, and Barracuda Studios, which started back in 2008.
What does this have to do with this web community? Last year, Barracuda Studios released out first figure, a 1/24th scale RAF WWII Fighter Pilot, sculpted by my good friend Mike Good. We have just followed up with 2 more new figure releases.
Being new to the site, I'm not sure of the protocol, and I don't want to come off as advertising where it is not welcome. So, whats the proper way to show new products?
I am also a beginner figure painter myself. I want to improve, so looking forward to seeing all the great work here and learning some new techniques.
Happy modelling! Roy
