Hi. Im painting miniature from Andrea's Warlord Saga, and i'd like to paint his skin with an unnatural, blueish/purplish/whatever
skin color.. but i cant get it look right
it always look er.. funny  Im looking for ideas using acrylic paints.. my newest idea is to paint it with burnt umber highlited with white, and shaded withpurple.. what do you thnk about it ?
Hi Simon, the success of any colour scheme like this in practice will depend to some extent on the nature of the paints you're using.
This is a bit complicated but let me try to explain it this way: if the violet, brown and white look okay painted as solid areas side by side that's a good start but it doesn't ensure that they'll work properly when used in a normal painting procedure (mixed together and built up in thin layers). When you come to actually layering these paints it's the
pigments they're made from that are most important to the success, because paints are not colours.
So bottom line, try a test and see how it works
