Hi,
Is there a website who explain by SBS or any other way the path on how to make groundworks on vignettes.
Thanks
Pascal

Good question!

See the "How To" Videos on Scenic Express web site. http://www.sceneryexpress.com/ Although this web site is mainly targeting the model railroad community, some of the products and techniques can be used for model figure groundwork.

IMO, don't get too hung up on matching the scale of your model to the supposed scale of the scenery product. I work mostly in 1/16th and I've found you can make other scales of scenery work often.

I left a short e-mail note on the http://www.realityinscale.com/ Reality in Scale web site asking for SBS articles, instructional articles, etc. Don't see anything like that on their web site. If others drop them a note asking for this, I'm sure they'd respond.

From time to time, I've picked up tips from Fine Scale Modelling magazine* or online, Historicus Forma, Military Modelling, Military Modelcraft magazine and others, but you have to look for the subject matter - I'm not aware of any regular magazine columns on groundwork.

*Recently had a fine article about how to make ocean water and spray for a ship in motion. Looked terrific and I would never have guessed how the author pulled it off.

Kim Jones wrote a couple of books for Schiffer Publishing https://www.schifferbooks.com/
(1) ISBN 9780764303708, Creating Scenes for Military Miniatures: Groundwork, Foliage, & Settings.
(2) 9780887408830, Modeling Military Miniatures : Tips, Tools, & Techniques
I've never seen a copy of either myself, but they might be useful.

Richard Windrow likewise wrote a book for Osprey on this subject.
Advanced Terrain Modelling
https://ospreypublishing.com/advanced-terrain-modelling
Again, I've never seen a copy.

Hope this helps!

All the best,
Dan
