Hello folks,

I want to know your objective thoughts about "Vallejo Model Color Shades" and the "Citadel Washes".

Is one better than the other? - No personal perferences, just facts, or explain your thoughts.
Pro/Contra?

Or if you found any threads who aren't 5 years old, youre also welcome.

Also give a quick vote. May some people also find it very helpful and interesting.

Honestly... neither.

I prefer either the Vallejo Model Wash (as in the wash range in larger bottles), to use inks, or thinned paint.

I find most other washes contain too much matt medium and are prone to drying with a dusty look I don't like.

Not a helpful answer. Asked about reviews like answers ;) I will test them also by myself.

You realise that all of those things actually come down to personal preference and the only way you will find which you prefer to work with is to try them for yourself.

I review things on a weekly basis and a review is essentially my thoughts and what I find. If I tested those two brands you asked I could tell you how I find them to be. But that doesn't mean that you will find them the same way. I know loads of people who love GW Nuln Oil wash for example. I cannot stand it.

Plus in your question you say "I want your opinions" and then say "no personal preferences". That's impossible.

Edited the starting post.

Well, with like everything in the world there are common properties. And I want to listen them down from different peoples.

Pls back to topic and not nitpicking the wording. :)

@ Mirofsoft: Thank you! Will take a look later.

You realise that objectivethoughts and personal preferences are still very similar.

The "facts" that you look for are almost impossible to list as different people have different understandings of what goes into a paint product and ways to use them.

Essentially, all pre-made washes are the same and do the same thing. It's a pigment suspended in a medium which has strong surface tension which encourages pigment to gather in recessed areas of a sculpt. Then you have the variations in the amount of pigment and matting agent that companies use in their washes, and of course the actual colour pigment used too.

The responses you will get will be as varied as asking something like "what is the best peanut butter and why".

The only way to find your preferred product is to try them really. Sorry to say that.
