hammered metal

I am looking for a post where a member replicated a hammered metal look with oils. does this ring any bells?

Yes,

It rings bells. I thought it was Ray Ferrugia with his painting of the Mameluk. He did a tremendous job on the metals. If i remember it he was painting a dark colour with a old stif brush. Pick up some paint and with a tapped movement you get some real nice stips. After drybrushing with the high you get the intention of hammered metal.
