Hi
First off I would like to say what a wonderful forum this is and what outstanding work you figure modelers do. The technique and use of colour on such a small canvas just amazes me. I should explain that I've been a car and plane modeler for ten years now and for the last 6 months (since the birth of my second child) I've been bored and unable to finish a project. My wife suggested that I try something different so I thought why not give figures a go. Since then I've completed two very o.k. painted figures but at the same time enjoyed the process and technique and discovered my passion for modeling again. So its great to be here and hopefully one day I might post a figure of some quality.

Hi Tony (great name) I live in Perth and read your interesting article in Model Art Australia magazine. I would like to know if there is somewhere local that you get your figures from or do you order them from Firestorm etc. Thanks Tony

Hi Tony (great name)

My apologies for not responding to your post sooner. I've deliberately stayed away from my computer for a few weeks and I've been trying to get some painting done.

Perhaps you can send me a Private Message or an email to [email protected] and I can get in touch with you.

I have used Firestorm before, but I get most of my figures through Ian Harries at Empire Hobbies. Ian came over to Perth for WASMEx last year and brought the entire Seil range of figures, plus Young Miniature busts with him. He's very helpful and a great bloke.

Great to see another figure modeller in Perth and I hope you will join the HFMS.

Cheers

thanks for the kind words Tony D and welcome Tony66, if you follow up on the HFMS i will be meeting up with the guys early next month for a "look it over before you buy" morning with specials galore.

I've been reading pf for ages but i haven't posted before but i guess i'll have to do it more often now and post pics of my humble work which is no where near the standard of what we see here.

Cheers, Ian
