Hello,everyone,

My name is Mario and are from Belgium, im 54 years young :) and started with modelling end 2020 but still a lot to learn.
My area is WW2 …. D'Day period, this have his reason, because my great grandfather was also soldier in WW2 ,he survived the war ,told me a lot of stories what happens there,he died at the age of 93.
In 2019 I went on holiday with my family for the first time to Normandy and I was overwhelmed with what I see there,I thought directly on my great grandfather.I bought there a lot of souvenirs and also miniature figures 1/35 and so I started to make figures.

But these are a little bit to small because I don't see very good,so I paint bust and figures with a minimum of 75 mm,American,German and British figures and busts.

I must say I struggle a lot with the "Denison smock (base color) djeez im getting nuts from it,but hope to find here finally how to do it ,thank you.

The picture is my great grandfather after the war

Hello Nap,
Thank you very much for the kind words about my grandfather,he was a very lovely men,and absolute,I gonna show you his medals ;) I gonna put
a picture here,so you can see him.
I got also his original papers when he was a soldier,he fight till 1944 and then he was going in the"armed resistance" that is the picture you going to see
with his medals, and the other person is his son.He hide also British and American soldiers at his home and give them food, there I got also pictures from
4 British soldiers who went with him in his house and his wife,my grandmother was a nurse, but I think I talk to much about him here, because it's a modelling forum.

But I do sometimes things for a museum here in Belgium, but that is more from the Canadian and polish soldiers who fight here, there where also British soldiers,
it's because of me that the manager from the museum now also spend attention on D'Day,and are the things I do.

Thank you also for the big welcome here, that feels good, and I must say,I must find my way here for the moment :) there is a lot to see,and amazing figures,
but gonna read what is what that I post the thing in the correct place,it's also a little bit hard with the language, but I use sometimes a translater.

So like I promised, you get the picture ,
Kind regards
Mario
