Hello All,

This topic maybe a bit off for Planet FIGURE but I have a big favor to ask. I am looking for the dimensions for the following buildings.
Dunker Church from Antietam
Bryan house and barn from Gettysburg
Meades HQ from Gettysburg

I would need dimensions of the door ways, window, and walls.

I have searched all over the internet and cant find anything that would help me. If there is someone that my life near these places and could get me those dimensions, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thank you, Robert

Robert,
If you have clear enough photographs of the buildings in question it is often possible to scale the structure from them. The first thing you need ( in addition to the photographs) is one fairly reliable dimension. This dimension can be discovered, in most cases, from the photographs themselves, a door for instance may be considered a nominal 80" in height, corner siding, window and door trim are usually some size between 4 and 6" on frame structures or, in fact, any with wood trim. Simply measure one of theses elements, that you know or have assumed a real life dimension for, on the photo, divide the actual measurement by your assumed dimension and this will then render a scale for the whole. To check the accuracy of you assumptions, simply measure more than one item and compare these against one another, or if possible a human figure also present in the photo you are using is a useful item for comparison. Again you'll have to make some assumptions about the size of the figure, a Caucasian male of a time earlier than around, say, 1950, may be assumed to be 5'6"-about 5'8" tall. Of course all these dimensions will only be informed guesses and for complete accuracy you'll want first hand or document able data.
