Been delving in the stash..I got this guy back in the 70s/80s. He's 54mm and he's been lurking around reminding me I should have painted him ... but with Hussar firmly soldered to his steed, at the time seemed a bit of an impossible task for a lad starting off in miniature painting at the time. As you can see time and weight has taken its toll, requiring the horse to be shored up with brass rod and the resultant damage to the horses off hind leg. I think .. please somebody correct me if I'm wrong ... that its was produced by a guy called Barry Minot / Mignot. Its been so long I can't remember ..

You're correct in your thinking Billy.
It is a Barry Minot.
I found this photo HERE (just scroll down towards the bottom of the page). ...

Andrea-and-Barry-Minot-Chasseur-a-Chevalde-la-Garde-Imperiale-Spain-1809--scaled.jpg

It shows an Andrea and a Barry Minot Chasseurs a Cheval de la Garde (the Minot looks like your figure).

Cheers,
Andrew

the figure looks like an old Minot figure. 54 mm with stability problems... as clearly visible from the pin.

it's an early 80es figure

it's a gem to be collected but not painted... for my point of view

Hi Andrew and Nap…

The Hussar is soldered to the horse and thought if I can’t separate the two then its going to make painting difficult, but as your link shows Andrew, it is possible… Thanks for this, much appreciated . Just a shame time has taken its toll on the figure, but I guess that’s as much my fault as anything else…
Cheers both
Billy

Your pics remind me of ALL the figs that were on display at Under Two Flags. The white powder deposits on the figure being the metal oxidising. Ray
