I have four 30 mm figures that come from an old mould that belonged to Georg Ivanov. I'd love to paint them, but I do not find any good painting description. I have find both pictures of uniforms and flags on the internet, but I do not know how to combine them so it will be right. I hope that somebody can help me.

Hi Bernt

BIG WELCOME to PF

As for the flats looking at them from the left I think French, Russian , Prusdian Garde , Russian 19th/early 20th century

Sure I have seen something similar painted up ....somewhere !!!

Happy painting

Bernt, you probably already know that these are all Russian and in full dress prior to the First World War.
The third figure (in the Grenadiers cap) is definitely a Pavlovski Grenadier. The rest if my memory serves me correctly can be painted as any Russian line infantry or Rifle regiment.
There is a good Russian website with schematic diagrams of the uniforms, I just need to find it.

You're right Roger, the figures are Russians from 1910. Ivanov produced only the Russian army in parade from 1910. Ivanov was a Russian who lived in Stockholm. I met him a few times. These four figures must be from his earliest production. They were not in his catalogue. All four figures are engraved by an unknown engraver in a single mould. Thank you for all the information so far.

It's not the same figure. There is nothing on the bases. They are also a little narrower than usual. Michael, I got your mail. Thanks.

I have now painted the first of the figures. The flag is painted with acrylic. I'm not so used to painting with acrylic, so it might had been better to paint it with Humbrol and oil (my usual painting medium). I've found many pictures on flags and uniforms, but unfortunately I can not match them right.

Well, those are pretty damned good, Bernt! You've done an excellent job with those flags, in 30mm. I like your colors and shading on the ensign's uniform, too. I can hardly wait to see the others finished!

Prost!
