Project just completed, this is the resin bust of Henry V supplied by Mitches Military Models.
I’ve always wanted a Henry V piece in my collection, and this bust release provided the perfect time for me to do it.
I always set out on a piece with the finished image in my mind, and I wanted to give this something extra,so I included a scratch built standard of St George representing the English Archers at the battle, also the defence stakes which was very popular in medieval warfare.
The bust is beautifully sculpted and was a real pleasure to paint from start to finish.
All my painting is done with undercoats of acrylic finished with oils, metallics we’re all acrylic by Vallejo.
Mitches also do a mounted version and a 3/4 size bust now,I would highly recommend this bust to anyone interested in this period.
the only change I made to the bust was to add some piping on the neck armour,I didn’t like it as it was,I added this with solder wire because it’s very soft and flexible and can be bent easily,I’m happy I did this in the end.
The bust is available from Ross at Mitches Military Models.
The weathering for me was very important,Agincourt was a very muddy battlefield,so I wanted to incorporate some mud stains on the bust and blood stains and mud on the standard, these conflicts were sometimes fought in very heavy weather conditions,it’s only my personal preference,I don’t like sparkling knights shown in battle scenarios.

Top notch, mate. There is a helluva lot to paint with this. Lots of different painting challenges to overcome. You've smashed it. The presentation with the wooden anti-horse spikey things is really well thought-out.
