Hi everyone just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm a total beginner figure painter I've been at it for a few months now and have to say it's pretty addictive. I first wanted to add figures to my plane and armor diorama's but now I'm sure I'll get the bug and move into 1/16 and other subjects as well. I'm working on some Alpine 1/35 figures and will post up some pics when finished. I live in Bellingham, Washington so if there's any others out there in the Pacific Northwest I'd love to meet you!

Anyway thanks and I'm sure you'll see some questions from me soon!

Cheers,

Ben Bodenhamer

Welcome Ben.

A lot of us started with, 1/72nd, & 1/35th Armour etc. .. However figures are a different discipline. .. 1/16th, is a good place to start, as you can scale up or down as you see fit.(y)

Alpine stuff is very good gear. just play and feel what scale is right for you.

Regards,

Mark.

Hey Ben!

Similar to you, started a few months ago. It is addicting. I'm on the other side of the country, else I'd take you up on the offer.

Also, play guitar. what is that in your picture...Hard to see...not like any Tele I have seen...

Thanks guys for the welcome excited to post up some pics of what I'm working on hopefully tonight!

@larry, unfortunately I don't play guitar but the pic is of Joe Strummers super worn out tele just a favorite band/icon/dude pic.

Hi ben,

Hi from the other side of the world and welcome to pF. As a newbie figure painter you've come to the right place. One of the things this forum does better than most is provide tips and advice to beginners and also experienced figure modellers and people are usually happy to share their tips and techniques. My best advice is to ask questions and paint a little bit every day if you can.

Hey dude, welcome.

If you like Joe Strummer, Johnny Marr or any other good guitarist, you have the 'backing' of many painters who have the best music while they work.

Hoping you enjoy the gig.

Paul.
