I'm in Perth. There's a great bunch of figure modellers in Brissie/ Gold Coast that you should catch up with at QHME - Alan Mackie, Boots Wellington, Phil Walden. They all reside here on Planet figure and meet regularly at each other's homes to talk figures and bullshit. Great bunch of fellas.
