I read on Facebook that Ron Tunison has passed away. Ron has appeared at several miniature shows over the years. Ron's credits incluse three monuments at Gettysburg National Military Park ( four if you include the Elizabeth Thorn sculpture at the Evergreen Cemetery. There is also the Irish Brigade relief at Antietam.

Gary,
This is very sad news,I had the pleasure of meeting him at Gettysburg at the first Expo.A Nice guy and what a talent.A very great loss.

Sorry to lose Ron before I ever had a chance to meet him. Transitioning from miniatures to larger than life bronzes cannot be easy and he clearly made that leap, producing large bronzes on various battlefields that stand up against the best of 19th C works, when this art form was far more common. Here is his Pat Cleburne from Ringgold Gap.....my personal favourite.

So sad to hear. I had never seen this monument before. I Love it! If any enterprising figure manufacturer would like me to do a sculpt of this figure as a tribute to Ron, I would love to hear from them...

This is a great loss to our hobby.
