Rehab for figure modellers!!! I like the concept!
In perfect seriousness, I was listening to an NPR piece this afternoon after my daily tour at the salt mines. This piece was talking about Vets or 'in transition' soldiers, marines, et. al., who were having trouble adjusting. They were in training on an organic farm near Camp Pendleton to become organic farmers, learning the techniques and beginning to feel their lives coming back into control (at least according to the interviewees). They talked about goals and about what they wanted to do with the rest of their lives. Nice idea.
It struck me then and the chord sounds again that there is real, honest-to-goodness, value for money therapy in this hobby.
I sit down to the bench some days and hours and hours pass and I'm totally absorbed. All the problems of the day (or week) are 'poof' - gone. All the accumulated stress is gone. When I get back up from the bench, I'm a little physically tired, but my mind is clear and I'm at peace with the cosmos. Everybody should have something like this in their life. Dontcha think?
All the best,
Dan
