Lovely painting but while not claiming I could produce work to this standard, I do think the hands – the left in particular – look skeletal.

Never seen a skeleton with hands like this be interested .....in why you feel this !!!!...off to Review the piece

Hi Nap,

To me, the hands look extremely emaciated and far too thin for the remainder of the figure. The modelling shows ridges to suggest stitching on the backs of gloves which would add thickness to the fingers but that isn’t apparent here. I feel the modelled fingers would be too thin even if they had no covering; the fact that they”re gloved makes them look out of proportion to my eyes.

Perhaps the figure really is a “Hussard de la Mort”!
