...Hi all.

I hope any of the english speaking friends can help me. I need a translation for my work. It's regarding marine engines and I need to know what "hole shot" means. The context is:

Four valves per cylinder, dual overhead cam design which maximizes hole shot, torque and efficency..

Hope any of you can help me.
Sorry for the O.T.

saludetes.

I believe it's a sporting term used to describe the ability of a driver (or he's machine) to get off the starting line with maximum efficiency....ie: before anyone else   ...used especially in motocross.

All the best.......Roy.

Angel,

It means that the engine will pick up (when you turn on the trottle) immediately and goes into the high rpm regions without any drop in the power. (most at the time it is for commercial use). Every engine has a drop in the power, at least a little drop. The trick is to smooth out the powercurve over a long rpm range without drop's
