Just back to the hobby after about 3 years and new to figure painting I need to learn patients my old style was just do it and hope for the best. And having more than 1 thing going Was the norm.but reading here and reading a few books my wife bought for me has changed that habit. First time back at the airbrush and I wanted to try some valiejo could never get this to work before. well what do you know a little patience and using valiejo products the model color sprays like a dream so now it will be 1 thing at a time it will take a little longer to clear up the plastic stash but I think it will be worth it and of course I plan some bust and figure stuff in between

When I just started modelling my Dad taught me that there are only THREE very important things in modelling: Patience, Patience and Patience. We've called them 'the three Ps' since.

Cheers,
Adrian

Patience and research is always a pre-requisite and an important aspect when painting any kit. I am glad that you have realised this, as now your work will no doubt be that much better.

Regards,

Mark

I am reminded of the old saying:-
Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can;
It's rarely found in woman, and never in a man.

From all the marvellous models I see on here, that's one old saying that can be consigned to the dustbin!:ROFLMAO:

I need to learn patients . so do I , there's something very liberating about hurling a figure that's not going right from one side of the room to the other until you realize that was £35 - £40 worth of resin that just went SMASH  . So I say patients , patients and know when to walk away and come back in a better frame of mind .chippy

Yes I agree I am learning to set it down and come back to it it will take a little longer to get it done but it will look better

So, when we've done the research, learned to count, learned not to throw things at walls, learned how to swear like a trooper, that' s when we pick up the brushes? Right?:whistle:
Best wishes, Gary:)

I struggled for years to learn that lesson. I still struggle with it, but I've become better at taking my time with my models. Not surprisingly, I can see the improvement in my painting starts around the same time I decided to take more time to research my figures properly and take my time to get the results I want.

Samson,

The last time my wife threatened to pack away my kits and paint, ..I said ok,.. I will just view some 'Porn then!' .. After quite an ear bashing, I got an un-expected little 'Humbrol Work station', through from amazon!:D

Funny how things turn out!!

Regards,

Mark
