Kinghu is done. To finish the homenaje, the ground is done with a board game that may be 35 years old, more or less. The cards of treasure and weapons, and the instructions to play of the mityc Hero Quest. At the base, the character card of the dwarf, with the attack, move and defense attributes. Kinghu has his left hand over a pile of cubes, painted as stones at the begining, ant retouched in two of them with purple and blue to represent the magic of the cubes. A bad throw and your character is dead. The reallity hit him like a stone.

This is the thing i had in mind, and i could do it. I'm happy.

Painted with acrilycs, and oils for weathering and deep in metals, to paint the hair of the cape, and the cubes. Instructions and cards scanned and rescaled to print. The Hero Quest used is mine. And yes, i'm a freak from long time ago :D

A general view, with the base

The figure and the base

From the top, with the ground

From the ground. No allow watch something different, but gives a stately touch to the dwarf, and is very cool IMO

Greetings to:
all the planeteers whom follow the SbS
my wife, that no say nothing when after put my children in the beds i go to my room to paint and no see me still go to bed time.
the children, listening to me speak about tales of this dwarf
J.R. Tolkien, Tracy Hickman, Catherine Weiss, R.A. Salvatore, George R R Martin, Terry Pratchet, Richark A. Knaak, Loise Cooper and all the writers of fantasy. Gave me a lot of time of enjoyment whit thier imagination
Blind Guardian for make pretty music inspired in the books of these writers

I lost the SBS! But the final result is great. The idea is just very good and very well executed! Hero Quest...good memories :) Sooner or later I have to add a dwarf to my collection. In my opinion the only thing that distracts me is the beard, maybe too much satin?
Un saludo!!

Thanks to all for you lines mates. I'm surprised a piece of fantasy likes so much people in PF, more focused on historic painting.
I like the choice of colours, very much in the fantasy genre but not overdone.
Cheers
Derek
I believe fantasy uses to work better with small and calculate dosis between reality to be understood for the watchers. As in Game of Thrones. At the beginning a little of magic in medieval ground, and after when you are in the serie, come the dragons, wizards, undeads

You played too to HeroQuest. We are legion. Put a dwarf in you collection today, and soon you'll need an orc too. :hilarious: The shine of the beard is my fault. The reflexion of the light of the lamp, but i can't do better things with a camera.

Yes, in fact for a short time I stopped painting historic to paint some of the figures that the box came with... but I was very young :p
Now in fact I'm painting an orc bust, my first fantasy figure since then!!! Well... it's the Napoleork bust (S75) so it is still a wee % of historic:whistle:
I will try to finish it before Agoncillo contest... maybe I will attend if I convince my wife, jajajja
