Anybody had experience with videos from Miniature Mentor or any of Jen Haley's stuff?

Any recommendations for a good painting video series other than Youtube.

Thanks

JM

I've downloaded some MM and found one or two good - it's certainly a quick and easy way to get a video and not too expensive comparitively. Jen Haley has a brusque style - more show than explain - might suit you.

The Painting Buddha videos (sample above) are more thought out and the multiple views useful but their DVDs come with extras like figures, stickers, badges you may not want to pay for. Ultimately depends what you're looking for - confidence building? technique? Also what scale you like. I'm assuming 28mm to 54mm if you're looking at Jen Haley but David Fisher's Modelmania series is excellent for the larger stuff (Garage Kit) and airbrushing.

YouTube does have one or two good videos but generally you have to skip a lot of droning away to the camera before the posters pick up a brush and get on with it. Just fast forward three or four minutes (on average) and you can find some good tips(y)

Thanks gentlemen. I actually do like the painting buddha. I may give this a shot. It has been so long since I have painted. It seems like I am still trying to find the right technique.

Regarding Miniature Mentor, there are some nice tutorials out there, some are okay. The first dvd from Jeremy Bonament is also excellent.
