Over on the IPMS homepage they have put up quite a few photos of the convention and entries. Heard from my buddy Bob Waltman (Ghostrider) and hes says there were a TON of entries. Go take a look here. He's gonna call me later tonight and tell me the results of the show. Be sure to check back throughout the week as I'm sure there are a lot more pics to come.

Enjoy,
Jim Patrick

The IPMS Nationals had lots of outstanding figures. The 'Best of Show Figure' was this Eagle Kochina Dancer, a 54mm scratch built figure.

Hi,
I'm back home from my first Nationals and I had a blast. It was a great show and loads of fun.
I've got over 200 pictures that I took there. I'll be uploading them to a gallery on ArmoramA soon and I'll post a link to them.

I got back from Atlanta this morning (via Ohio) and will be recovering for the rest of the week. What a show! If you're a plastic modeler, it doesn't get any better. More than 3,000 models in the competition and new display-only category. And more than 400 tables of models, accessories, books, and militaria.

Here are photos of the figures.

Here's the Best of Show, a scratchbuilt Soviet lunar rover. I think most of the attendees overlooked it, but it was an example of engineering and modeling perfection. The same modeler won Best Armor with a 1/144 scale Tiger tank with complete interior.

Too bad more figure modelers don't attend IPMS contests. I'm sure everyone would be dazzled by the quality of figures typically seen at the Chicago, Valley Forge, etc. shows.

Nice to see you Craig. Said hello to Chris Mrosko (who fared quite well in the figure and diorama competitions) but didn't get a chance to chat.

Hi Steven,
It was good seeing you there too. I just wish we had had a chance to talk more.
Will you be going to the D.C show in August? If so, maybe we can chat there.
The group photo didn't come off as well as I had hoped. I ended up putting the notices on my Pittsburgh club table (not the original plan). I did have a couple of folks from ArmoramA show up though.
Cheers,
Craig
