Hello Gentlemen & ladies, :)
Just a quick post as I got back from the IPMS Nationals at Telford & what a show! Met up with a few Planeteers & had a good laugh, natter & picked up a few figures & busts as well. It was great to meet up with you all & find kindred spirits. Although, not a figure based show, there was enough to keep all us figure guys all happy with the figure firms that attended & all great people to meet. Top notch!
Hope to keep in touch with you all that I met,
regards

It was a good show but the hall staff/organisation wasn't too good IMO. Not talking about IPMS but security etc hall maps upside down etc. Food was insanely priced glad I brought my own snap. That aside it was great to meet up with folks from here both old and new. Not big into afv nd planes etc but some fantastic work on display.

Hi Guys ,

Sounds like you had a good time albeit a little hungry if you didn't take your own nosh ......when I went a coupe of years ago there was the same concern with the organisation and the extortionate pricing of the catering....some great models , planey and tanky things are always good to see and like Stve said some fantastic work ........

Anyone take any pictures etc ..especially figures or pick up awards in the comps ?

The food there has always been insanely priced. Which wouldn't be quite so bad if it was actually decent nosh, but for the most part it's McDonalds standard or even worse.

They rely on punters being too lazy to walk 5 or 10 minutes up into town to buy food & snacks (which many people are), and so they basically have a captive audience and can charge what they like because people will just grit their teeth and pay up.

I went with a pal of mine on Saturday and we fancied a beer. That is until we found out that they wanted GBP 3.75 for a small (0.33l) bottle of Carlsberg, so on principle we told 'em to shove it.

Hi Mark,
I could not echo your sentiments more. I had a really good day and picked up some nice bits. The day just flew over, so much so I did not even get my head into the competition room. Besides meeting yourself and having a natter, also had a chat to (and I apologise if I have missed anyone) Steve J, Paul (Just Bases), John (Hawk Miniatures), Gordon (Mitches Military Models), Keith (Victory Miniatures), Ken (Mil-Mart Miniatures) and Carl (Mr Barton), Steve (Helm), Gordon/"Chippy" (The Base 2B) - thanks again for the coffee Chippy next time on me mate(y), Darren (Firefly) and lastly Steve (Reedees Miniatures)

I spent hours talking to Steve (Reedees Miniatures) he needs to cut himself in 10 for what he has got planned, all I will say is watch this space you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to the next one.
cheers
Richie

It was great to see so many of the planeteers over the weekend and spend many hours chatting to some old and new mates, agreed food/beverage prices were very high.
From what I hear Carl Barton took a gold in the comp, well done mate.
