Current WIP,

Starting to add details, need to do a lot more work on his redcoat and skin tones, but getting there little by little as my first 120mm and native Indian figure.

Painting his Kentucky rifle was fun, it has a slight bend/twist in the barrel from the Mitches mould that wouldn’t correct through heating, but not that noticeable in most angles.

Temporarily put the lad in his tree purch to see what he looks like in final composition.

Added some foliage to the tree to give it some life from the burnt lightening strike top.

Temporarily put the lad on his perch to see what the final composition looks like.

Thanks Mate, the gun barrel is quite brittle, it broke twice trying to straighten and has a slight twist so loathed to try and do any more to it or it will snap again.

Need to do loads more work on the jacket, started in oils, need to change the red slightly and make sure it’s blended correctly.

It’s my first native Indian and 120mm figure, so new to working this size and resin.

onwards and upwards.

Nearly completed the 120mm figure now, using Jo Sonja acrylics with Windsor & Newton oils over acrylic for the redcoat and other areas to give depth and bring out more intense colour.

Added some traditional tattoos and glued his tomahawk and bag in place.

I need to leave him to dry for a few days before attempting to put him on his tree section perch in final position on the base.

Thank you mate, it was a nice change to paint such a large interesting subject, my only hope was to do it justice. Would be nice to do some other figures with nice uniform colours and agree the khaki army can get a bit dull sometimes.
