I am working on painting two WWI French figures with simple, straightforward uniforms. Not a complicated colour palette. No complex conversion work either. So after about 2 weeks of working on these figures, my desk looks like this:

I just realised it is complete chaos and my working area is getting smaller and smaller!

Is this normal, or do I need some form of therapy?

Also, is it normal to use at least seven different brands of paint products to paint two figures which are basically grey?

Good to see I am keeping the paint manufacturers in business....:)

Very normal. You start out with a couple of bottles of paints but then you add a little bit of this and a little bit of that and before you know it there's paints everywhere plus brushes, tools, mugs, thinners, water, the lot!

In a book somewhere have a photo of Francois Verlinden's workbench and it's all rather chaotic. I decided long ago that if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me!

Glad to hear I am not alone....I suspected as much!

:) I can only agree with that.....

But look at all those neat storage units full of paints....? Surely that's not normal?;) Mine are all in random cardboard boxes and I have to rummage through loads of them to find t he colours I need......

I'd love to get hold of that figure SD, but last I looked, its out of stock everywhere, yours is looking good, especially the jeans!

Jeff.

I wouldn't go round to look ...there's a blooming pistol on his bench as well as suitable refreshment ......lol

Happy benchtime everyone...if you can find the bench under those essentials !

You know Nap, I was looking at the figure with tunnel vision, and didn't even notice the pistol!..lol!

A well-organized workbench is the sign of a sick mind. 'Lessee, I know it's here someplace... "

Indeed! I was searching for a Vallejo Prussian Blue which I distinctly remember buying at a show. Could I find it anywhere? It seems to be hiding from me....

Must get some of those fancy paint shelves.....
