Hideliho Figureteers!

Hope the headline caught your curiosity. However it isnt as serious as one might come to believe. I promised myself to do at least one shadowbox but over here the information about such things are a bit sparse. I would like to believe that these displays are more common in the US.

Ive been very keen to do this kind of diorama ever since Ive read Sheps book many years ago. Ive also been inspired by Ray Anderssons book about boxed dioramas as well as a seminar held by Denis Levy in Glasgow.

What I really need is some more information on the hardware. Bulbs, dimers, fans etc. Perhaps someone here can guide me to a book or homepage on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know if there are any websites that have info. I know of only two major "players" who do this sort of thing - Dennis Levy and Roland Laffert. I can ask them to log on here, but I am not sure if that is possible (Dennis works alot and Roland is building a new home). I can check if you like though or if at least they can give me some info to post.

Look into some back issues of Historical Miniature. There's at least one article by Roland Laffert, and one by Nick Infield. I don't know the issue numbers off hand. Roland also did an article for Figurines magazine about his Tutankhamen box dio.

The only problem with the book "The Art of the Diorama" by Ray Anderson, is some of the ideas are a little outdated. The wiring lighting and composition stuff is still very useful.

Keep us updated. There are so many possibilities with these.
