Hi all,

Here's an update of the project, Japanese Cavalry Scout Officer 1904, that I had posted some in-progress images in early Feb. The sculpture is finished and attached are some images of the finished model. Scale is 54mm.

Vince , very nice .I like it.Was wondering if the face is an original or converted commercial casting.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks! The head is an adaptation from my previous sculpture, the Chinese Boxer. So that is my own creation.

I am so glad you are doing this period.
Hi Bob,

Thanks. I am gathering more stuff on this period and hopefully will come up with more figures.

Hi Alexandre,

Thanks. May be I need you to give me hand with some translations if I need to do any Russians in the Russo-Japanese War ;)

The American writer, Jack London spent time reporting on the Russo-Japanese war "embedded" with the Japanese side. I always thought there was a vignette possibility there somewhere. There are some extant picture of Jack with Japanese troops and while he wasn't actually in combat he was close to some of the battles.

Bob,

I would love to do a vignette on the subject but guess I have to finish the Zulu figures first ;)

Rocco,

Thanks!

Vince, I know how that goes. I had to stop my Boer War project using your Brit foreign service helmets due to commissions.

So many ideas, so little time ;)

Thanks Vince for the info. BTW I tried to visit your site , Alpha Image , but was unsuccesful.Wanted to contact you on other matters. I try again and if I don't succeed I will contact you personally.
