Just finished this 1/9 scale Model Cellar bust of Jean Bart (French privateer).
It depicts him during the last decade of the 17th Century.
It’s a superb sculpt by Pavol Ovečka (‘offo’ on PF).
Painting was mainly oils over enamels. The breastplate was painted in Humbrol Polished Steel Metalcote (No. 27003), and buffed-up. Gold printers ink (El Greco) was used for the metal gilding, and same mixed with Humbrol matt varnish for the gold lacing.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for looking and your kind comment.
The red cheeks took a few applications of 'wet on dry' until I was reasonably happy with the result.

Cheers,
Andrew

Lovely job Andrew. Having tackled this one myself can only agree with your comments about Offo’s sculpt, it’s really great and the face so full of character.
