Hello to everybody,

Ask most people to name a famous American family and its more likely to be the Kennedy's , this family was america , america was this family but they were tagged by tragedy by one of the most infamous events of the 20th century which happened in 1963 I am of course referring to the assassination of the then 35th president of the United States John Fitzgerald"Jack" Kennedy often referred to as JFK.

This is the subject released from Life Miniatures last year announced here on PF:

Among JFK's quotes include:

My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.

Forgive your enemies, but never forget their names.

JFK was born in 1917 , one of 9 children and went on to become the youngest president to be elected who had by his side another icon of the time his wife the beautiful Jackie Onassis .

Both were in Dallas on that fateful 22nd day of November where the president was scheduled to speak when :

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., as the motorcade was passing through downtown Dallas, shots rang out; Kennedy was struck twice, in the neck and head, and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a nearby hospital.

Twenty-four-year-old Lee Harvey Oswald, known to have Communist sympathies, was arrested for the killing but was shot and fatally wounded two days later by local nightclub owner Jack Ruby while being led to jail.

Who can forget the images on the news particularly of his wife crawling over the car in despair and the shockwave of horror at the event that went round the world.

Many conspiracy idea's have been suggested including one of the KGB being involved , whatever you think this was an incredible and very world changing event.

Footage is available if you wish to view it , here is one of many

abcnews.go.com/.../john-kennedy-assassination-videos-tv-news-coverage.

JFK was president during a particularly difficult time including the Cuban Crisis and was succeeded by Lyndon Johnson.

Lets rumble that resin,

What are we looking at:

Title: JFK 35th President of the United States

Reference: LM-B-016

Scale: 1/10th

Material: Gray Resin

No of pieces: 5

Sculptor: Sang-Eon Lee

Box Art: Sang-Eon Lee

SPECIAL THANKS to Suzy Sophia Ji

As with all from Life Miniatures we are in for a treat from the opening of the strong distinctive black cardboard box with the full colour pictures on both top JFK 001.jpg and sidesJFK 003.jpg to opening the box finding that the parts are all sandwiched between soft spongy foam sheets.

Parts found inside include the torso, the head , the left arm and a separate hand and the base .( these last 2 were in a resealable bag)
JFK 002.jpg

Prep:

Torso ..one casting plug under right armJFK 005.jpg
Left Arm...one casting plug at elbow bendJFK 013.jpg
Head..one casting plug under neckJFK 023.jpg
Hand.. one smaller casting plug at wristJFK 018.jpg
Base..slight sanding on bottom edgeJFK 004.jpg

Prep is as you might gather minimal with all plugs being positioned carefully and easy to remove , there were NO casting lines to be seen anywhere on any pieces .

Lets begin with the Torso , our subject is wearing a leather jacket under which we see a shirt and collar , looking at the jacket this is rendered beautifully great natural folds all over with all seams being particularly well worked , the zip running up the middle has nice detail with when I ran my finger up actually feels like a zip !!! the collar is a fur this again has been nicely textured .
The button eyelets are also worthy of a mention and a closer look .
JFK 006.jpg

On the right breast we have a circle blank this is to let you paint the US presidential seal as in the picture ref in the 1st part.JFK 011.jpg
The shirt again shows the same high level of sculpting with the collar having the edges being held down by 2 corner buttons as was the style in the 60's. JFK 010.jpg
At the collar we have the tie well done and sculpted all the way down sitting under the jacket nicely .

The inside collar area is a perfect fit ready to receive the neck JFK 012.jpg

The underside is supersmooth with the same being able to be said of the torso itself.

JFK 009.jpgJFK 008.jpgJFK 007.jpg

On now to the Head ..what is there to say except this is a wonderful bit of sculpting infact I would say jaw dropping instantly recognised as JFK , all the features of the face are there , from the face shape to the nicely worked eyes and closed mouth ...hairstyle is well worked as seen in pictures above , the texture of the strands are really top class , all well shaped
.JFK 023.jpgJFK 021.jpgJFK 022.jpgJFK 024.jpg JFK 025.jpg

Now to the Arm this is a full arm less the hand , again great folds are seen particularly at the bend of the arm , the wrist has the elasticated cuffs with good material texture , the wrist cuffs are opened ready to have the hand fitted.

The fit of the arm at the shoulder to the torso being excellent matching the cutout there with ease ...no filler needed of course.JFK 015.jpgJFK 014.jpg

Onto the Hand... this is of the same high level of sculpting seen throughout , the fingers are really well shown with the creases of the skin at the correct position , finger nails are on every finger and not out of shape , all are easily accessible for painting , the back of the hand shows the veins well .
In his fingers we have a cigar which JFK liked and was seen smoking at times this has the ash showing on the end .JFK 018.jpgJFK 019.jpgJFK 020.jpgJFK 016.jpg
Fit to the wrist is with ease and brings the subject even more to life.

Finally we have the Base , as with LM we have a simple but perfectly suitable cylindrical post type ,this fits well into the cutout on the torso underside , some might like to use a brass rod , if you choose to use the one supplied then pin in as well !!

Final Thoughts:

As with all of Life Miniature release we are in for a treat whatever your purchase choice , in this case Sang-Eon has done himself proud choosing a very difficult thing to release ..a well known subject , the face had to spot on ...has he achieved it ...an emphatic YES .

Great presentation , sculpting and of course box art being excellent

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This would make a great companion piece to another release from LM namely "Bye Bye Baby" which is another icon Marilyn Munroe .....
I reviewed this piece here on PF :
