Has anybody heard something regarding Jinkoo Park collectibles?
I purchased something in April, was informed there was a slight delay in casting. Since then silence.
I tried contacting Jinkoo a number of times, but get no response.
Just seeking information/help, not seeking to give somebody a bad reputation.

Thanks in advance

Yes after a mad flurry of releases earlier in the year, he seems to have gone very quiet. Not quite sure what's going on there.

Some weeks ago after checking out his web site and seeing that he now has box arts, I sent him a private message on here on 5th June to request a proper box for the Roman Soldier with Mastiff that I bought off him early in the year (mine came in just a bit of bubble wrap, which for the price was not acceptable).

On 15th July (so ten days ago as of now) I finally got a reply from him saying words to the effect of "no problem I'll send one on", but since then nothing. And I also note that his last activity on here was on that very same day, 15th July. The last time he was on here promoting a new release (a Marlon Brando as "Don Corleone" bust) was on 13th May.

Ominously though, his web site is now down ....

It says "back soon", but I don't think that bodes well (although I would be delighted to be proved wrong).

Sorry to hear you didn't get your figure Peter. All I can suggest is that you keep chasing him up. Drop him a PM here if you haven't already. It can't hurt.

Scratch the second part of the above. His site is now (suddenly ... and miraculously?!) back up.

Perhaps all is not lost!

Did this get resolved? I’m interested in some of their stuff. They have an awesome Oleg Pogosyan model I’m eyeing and I’m not in the mood to get screwed. I notice they have quite a few masters that have been in the casting process for a while now.

Edit. Their site is down again.

They are on FB , supported FOTM but really difficult and time consuming to sort out prizes for winners , based on that communication doesn't seem to be good

Tried website : result below !!!

My thought would be to look elsewhere unless things improve rapidly

Back in June I contacted the guy running Jinkoo to ask for a proper box (with box art as per his site) for my "Roman Soldier with Mastiff" because it had originally arrived wrapped in a bit of bubble wrap and nothing else. I thought that was the least I could expect for the money I'd paid.

A month later in July he finally got back to me saying (and I quote) "Sorry for late. I will send Box soon. I will let you know. Thanks". But since then .... nada.

I fired off a reminder a week ago, but the silence is still deafening.

I'd be delighted to be proved wrong, but my thoughts (and I base this purely on gut instinct, nothing more) is that it's all gone tits-up and he's thrown in the towel. We've seen flash-in-the-pan outfits come and go before, and we'll probably see it again. Such is the nature of the beast these days unfortunately.

Thanks. It shows how tough the market must be. His catalog has really good stuff in it. I hope they get it together or at least sell off the masters they haven’t sent to casting.

As of this morning (UK time) his site is now back up again so I've sent him an e-mail directly via the "Contact Us" link there in the hope that I'll hear back from him:

"The planetFigure community is wondering what is happening with your range and your planned releases, because you have gone very quiet on us. Are you still trading? Best regards - Steve"

I base my concerns on the fact that having the Oleg Pogosyans, the Sergey Popovichenkos and the Kirill Kanaevs of this world doing some of your sculpting and box arts can't come cheap (that's in addition to paying for the masters and all the other overheads), and as we know margins for figure companies these days are very tight.

Interestingly, I've noticed that he also has at least two pieces in his range (the 120mm 101st Airborne figure and the Amy Johnson bust) that used to be sold by other (presumably now defunct) companies, so he appears to have been buying masters from them also. There may be others too, these are just the ones I recognise.

I'll let you know if/when I hear anything back from him.

He's vanished before. No idea what the reason was but one day it was posts on social media and then nothing.

Also, in comparison to European box art painters and sculptors some of the Russia based painters are actually cheaper to use.

That surprises me. But even if that is true, I'd wager that cheaper still doesn't mean "cheap".

You're not wrong. I've heard of Kirill Kanaev charging around £700 for a box art. Considering his standard and impact he could easily charge £1000+ and some European painters do.

So assuming a retail price of £35 per unit, Jinkoo is going to have to shift 20 units just to cover that £700 outlay for the box art. Maybe the same again or similar for the master, then on top of that there's the other overheads .... that's maybe 50 or 60 units just to break even.

Incidentally, his Facebook page appears not to have been updated since March.

That's not including concept art, sculpting, casting, packaging, and marketing so you're more looking at £40 and aiming to break even in around 50.

Several weeks later and the silence from this guy is still deafening.

His web site is up again (or at least it was at the time of typing this). But needless to say, I won't be placing any more orders.

I wasn’t going to say anything in case he was still in business but I noticed a few sculptors are saying he commissioned work from them and ran off with the cash.
