Dear Planeteers to finish up my reveiw of the JMD figure, please see the attached photos, special thanks to Billy Turnip and Dan Morton for advice and encouragement to a new member of the planet, two of the many supportive hobbyists that have enriched my hobby since joining the forum !,

this is the first JMD Kit i have attempted but i can honestly say it is one of the best kits i have ever completed, this also represents my first ever attempt at a WW1 subject, will deffo be doing more (prob the Jock infantryman next). It has to be said that JMD figures represnt great value for money as they are relatively inexpensive.
The cracked and weathered white paint on the wall was achieved using Vallejo crackle medium, someting that i find very usefull for ground work of all kinds, i also gave his helmet a layer of this medium

Dan i could not manage to paint the divisional flash that you reccommended with my current skill so i am afraid that i copped out and did the yellow circle div flash, anyway hope you all like it ( if anyone from JMD visits this forum i have a question - will you ever produce ww2 figs in this scale? as i think that they would be awesome!)

Anyway thanks again to all, onwards and upwards with my next project

Best Regards to all

Kirky

Good work Kirky. This should actually go in the painting forum....not the review forums. A review is for reviewing the aspects of any given kit.....not the sbs construction and painting of it. They can be linked together.

thanks

Dear Marc and Guy,

Thanks for the positive comments, will do reveiws and build/paint reports as seperate entities in the future.

Marc i may be moving to Den Haag soon to start a new job, is there good figure shops in the netherlands?

Best Regards
Kirky :)

Kirky ,
Nice work , like the way the scene is set and what you have done with the base , thanks for posting this .
Possibly moving to the Netherlands ..nice plenty of modelling opportunities and loads of European shows (Antwerp etc) ..do hope you are still able to make meeting on the 29th .
But whatever ..keep posting !!!

Dear Marc and Guy,

Kirky :)

Yes there is: THE INTERNET.
Unfortunally figurepainting is not a common hobby in the Netherlands. It is more rare. The only figures we seen here are the drivers and commanders of AFV's. Sometimes a Verlinden figure.
That's why i'm a member off a Belgian figure society the AMSS.
So, if you want a figure the only way is the internet.
There are a few hobbyshops in the Netherlands who sells figure's but they are in Rotterdam, and Tiel. But again mostly AFV figures.

Marc

Can you paint figures at sea ??

I can't but I'm sure others might be able to. For me the whole atmosphere and setting aren't right for me to sit down and paint. Besides the pitching and rolliing don't help, although some of my figs look as if they were painted in a Force 12 :)

A few people have hobbies they do at sea, I read a lot when I'm away but our captain does cross stitch pictures. I'm not sure if it relaxs him or not, I've heard some pretty bad language form his cabin when he's sewing :)
