This evening I am visiting John Smiths Modelbau which is situated in Walsrode Germany. Really looking forward to it as I get to see how figures are made and what research is done prior to a figure going into production. Also I may purchase a couple of figures:)

I've been a couple of times as I live nearby, John is a really nice guy and seeing how he produces his figures is really interesting.

Sorry I've been very busy over the last few days. My visit to John was excellent, he showed me some of his new stuff which he is in the process of making and its a good insight on how much time and effort is spent producing the figures that we all love to make and paint. I took some of my figures for him to have a look at and to be told that they were good was a big pat on the back. I did'nt buy any figures but I did manage to purchase some bases for my models. I'm going to see him again after Christmas as he has lent me some books on WW1 as I am waiting to start painting the Gordon Highlander Piper from SK Miniatures. If any of you are near Walsrode its well worth visiting John.

Barke 02, I forgot to mention that I have not seen John making any 1/15 Scale vehicles, if he had I would have been first in the que. I will ask him next time I see him.
