Bought this awesome bust at SMC. Couldn't resist it when I saw Martin's anouncement of it.
So, my first step into the vendors area was to Jon Smith.

The bust depicts a young sapper of a German Pioneer unit, from the famous Storm Battalion NO5.
This was a experimental training unit, founded by Major Calsow in the sprong of 1915 and commanded later by Hauptman Willy Rohr, formed the nucleus of the new infiltration assault tactic.

Back at home I immediately opend the box and couldn't wait to let the brushes find his way to this.
But it had to wait, because I had two other projects on the go.
Now, one of two is finished I will share my thoughts about this bust from Jon Smith.

1. You get a 7 sheets A4 of instruction, how to deal safely with resin. Above that there is some really detailed information about the equipment and colors.
2. The picture from the soldier who stood for this bust.
3. 14 parts of resin wich are.
- torso,
- 2 heads, one with Field Cap, and one bare
- German Steel helmet M 16 with very high detailed inner work
- gun (Kar 98 AZ)
- pickaxle handle
- 2 Grenade bags
- Gas Mask Tin
- Chinstrap and utility straps (3)
- Brass rod for fitting the bust on a base.

All is very sharp casted with small casting blocks, and I hope they are easy to remove without damaging the parts. (The helmet could be a problem with the casting block in the outside center).

PS sorry for some blurred pictures of the heads

All in All a bust where we should have hours of painting pleasure with.
