This is my first for 2018.
It’s Jósef Poniatowski by Alexandros Miniatures (scale 1:10).
Painting is mainly oils over enamels and printers inks for the metals.
I also experimented with a mix of printers ink and Humbrol matt varnish for the ‘metallic’ embroidery.

Hi Andrew

Very clean artwork , that lacework must have been interesting

Good to see you posting

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Thanks for looking and commenting Kevin.
The printers inks (from El Greco) are excellent, but a tad shiny.
Mixing them with the Humbrol matt varnish worked very well, but the paint does tend to become 'heavy', requiring regular thinning with turps.
However, you do get the chance to clean-up if you go wrong, unlike with acrylics.

Cheers,
Andrew

Yes indeedy the eyes but I also really like the hair and pelt.

Very well done indeed. The lacework looks to be a nightmare to do.

Many thanks for the kind comment Michael.
The lacework is not particularly difficult. The superb sculpting by 'Ebroin' seems to guide the brush.
As I mentioned to 'Nap', using printers ink and Humbrol matt varnish mix made it relatively easy to lift-off inadvertent smudges.

Cheers,
Andrew
