Hi Friend's.
This is my latest from Scale75.
Painted with oils and acrylics.
Bit of an up and down week for me (for those that know).
Any way had some fun with this, but have to seriously think about only doing 90mm upwards.
Hope you like.
All the best.
Ralph.

Nice work Ralph, specially the metals. Keep us updated!

Cheers,
Pedro.

Nice work.
Don't blame you going up to 90mm. I started as a kid with 33mm willie figures from sloane street , it then went to 54mm. I then gave it a 35yr rest and started a few years back and it can't be any smaller than 120mm now Think its a sign of age.

I think your figure will hugely benefit from a dark background ( a black A3 sheet of paper) and some daylight, with some sort of dimmer on the flash when you take a picture (as simple as a kitchen towel folded few times until you get thickness just right). This is most simple and easy to do set up, of course you will upgrade it as you get more used to it.

When it is done, we will be able to appreciate "real" colours and tones and it will be easier to give further feedback - if you are up for it. I feel white background just dulls the figure and robs it of its colours.

I thought that Ciaran Hinds made an excellent Caesar in the television series "Rome" but this figure is much closer to the Caesar that I picture in my head.Lovely work.

I think one of the reasons that this may not have attracted comment us that the figure seems to be askew. Not sure if it's the photos, the sculpt or a simple error in mounting him (which would be easy to correct). Perhaps the absence of comment earlier was partially attributable to viewers not wanting to deliver bad news. On the other side of the coin, the paint job looks quite nice.

The head seems slightly small when compared to the rest of the body. Just my opinion.

Hi Ralph, I think the figure has been sculpted to stand on a gentle slope, and his feet are at an angle. If you check out the Scale 75 box art for this figure, you'll see what I mean.
It wouldn't be too hard to correct the base though, as your painting is great and it's a lovely figure. Hope you have a better week mate, please keep posting!

Very nice work. particularly on the reds, that's not an easy colour to work with.
