All parts are very clean & the details are very sharp. The mould lines are very minimal & will clean up very easily. The is some resin flash in places but nothing that wont come off easily. The mould pour points are very small & will be easy to remove.

Hands / Paws & Tail

The quality stays the same here with only small mould lines & resin flash to be removed. Looking closer at the spikes on his hands, these are neat & tidy. Handling needs to be careful as these are going to be fragile, but they are quite thick so will withstand a bit of heavy handling. I looked close at the tail to see what the mould line was like & I am struggling to see it. So the casting is very good quality.

Again the quality is consistent here. The detail on the skirt's is very well detailed, & will be good fun to paint. I was expecting the pieces to be quite thin & fiddly, but they are a good thickness & will not get damaged easily. Looking closer at the sword there are a few, very small air bubbles. These will need filling with putty or super glue etc, but will not take a lot of work to fix.
The Base

The base again is very well detailed & is a good size, approx 50mm wide x 25mm high. There are more air bubbles in this part, but most of them are easily fixable. The base looks like it would be easy to build around if you wanted to extend it & make more detailed ground work around him. But also has enough detail to be used on its own.
Final Thoughts

Khan is very different miniature, in a very popular scale & will appeal to a lot of the fantasy painters im sure. I have had many kits from Darkstar Miniatures in the past & this one stands up as good as the rest, if not better! I think for £35.00 + Shipping you are getting amazing value for your money. Personally knowing the owner Steve Crisp, I have had many conversations with him regarding his company. One thing that always surprises me is the great value of all his kits. He is able to keep the costs low as he does the 3d printing & also the casting himself. So he is very particular about his work & if you ever have a problem he is quick to resolve it. I now look forward to painting this beautiful kit.

I hope this review has been helpful & I recommend you pop over to www.darkstarmini.co.uk to see the other kits in their range.

Also they have a promotion running across the website until 24th December of 20% discount.

Cheers

Steve

Great review Steve. This looks like a really interesting and different kit that would be a lot of fun to paint. Glad you reviewed it so more people can discover it.
