Several months ago when this was released I realized right away it was fantasy but with an interest in the Zulu period of history and the fantastic detail of the Water Buffalo I had to order it. Cast in white matal and resin this kit contains 19 parts to assemble and paint.

Arriving in a metal cannister the parts to this kit were sandwiched between layers of foam with the resin base being underneath it all on the bottom. The bottom photo shows all the parts except the resin base.

Conclusion:
I found the Water Buffalo to be highly detailed with dry-fitting of the parts exceptionally good. I found the detail of the Zulu Queen to be lacking some in comparison to the Buffalo. The shield decoration at the top of the shield was broken off upon first opening the kit. Overall I find the kit to be an exceptional piece and look forward to painting it this winter. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a kit! That buffalo is just fantastic! I almost wish the cat hide wasn't molded in to the back of it so you could just paint up the buffalo if you so chose. Great review of a kit I'm certain you'll have a great time painting Guy!

The buffalo is a must have, with or without the girl. Personally the girl kinda doesnt match the buffalo and I can see how people may want to do something about it, either by painting the girl with especially rich tones, applying their sculpting tools on the existing kit, or just do without.

What a beast!
