I recieved the new 90mm Young Miniatures Roman Officer today in the mail and everything on the desk came to a halt while I examined the newest figure from the talented sculpter, Young B. Song. This is a limited edition figure and is #77 of 300 castings Young is doing. It is awesome!!!

The figure arrived packaged identically to the Viking I recieved a year ago. Well packed and strong black box with the photo on top for a guide.

It comes with a Limited Edition Card with the kit number and signed by the Master Sculpter himself, Young B. Song.

The inside parts were sandwiched between heavy foam and no parts were broken or damaged. A small bag contained the tiny parts so as to keep them together.

Pulling all the parts out and setting them out you can see the multitude of parts that will give this figure additional realism when complete.

The head and face of the figure is what caught my eye first and the attention to detail Young has given the Officer depicts "attitude"

The armor plate is exceptionally detailed and is a seperate part of the body.

The mid section with tunic is a 2 part assembly (front / rear ) and dry fitting shows exact fit.

The leg assembly is 2 parts and again dry fit together and fit right up into the upper tunic section.

The flowing cape is 2 piece with the right hand sculpted to the smaller part.

The helmet and plume are seperate parts and have excellent finely sculpted detail.

The sword is one of the finest sculpted 90mm swords I have seen and has a belt attached to the side.

Overall an excellent figure with very minimal seam lines and fantastic detail to really bring this to the front of figures released over the last year. This figure will be in my vbench soon.

Well, I almost hate to say anything nice about this one, I don't want to miss a chance at one myself!! I had the chance to see this one in person tonight and I have to admit it is a real beauty! Absolutely on parr with his Viking. The details are supurb on this piece. The stance is firm and confident. The fit looks fantastic. The casting is super! It has definitely shot to the top of my list!!!!

Guy, Thanks for the review. That is an exceptional piece of miniature sculpture. The level of engineering is impressive on it's own.~Gary
