One of my latest productions.
A knight of the portuguese Order of Avis, set on the 13th Century.
The figure is from Soldiers, 54mm, in metal, and allows to represent any chivalry order. I decided to escape the traditional and represent an order away from the usual Templars, Teutonics, etc.
The Order of Avis was the main portuguese order in the formation of the Portuguese kingdom, the Reconquista and the ultramarine expansion, and the green cross still have a strong meaning in Portugal, and the Order of Avis is now one of the main portuguese honorific orders.
The green cross of the Avis Order is in the mantle, in the shield i painted the blue cross of the portuguese house of Borgonha. In the terrain i added a little flower bed of purple lavender, one of the "symbols" of Portugal.
All painted in acrylics, except the throusers shadows, that are in oils. Sorry for the pics, that are getting better, mas still not that good.
I hope that my portuguese friend Pedro likes this one!
Comments and critics are most welcome
