"La Hire" - Battle of Patay, 1429
1/10th scale resin
13 parts
Sculpted & Painted by Ju Won Jung

La Hire 01.jpg

Young Miniatures brings to us a creation by Ju Won Jung in 1/10th scale resin. The kit consists of 13 resin parts and represents "La Hire" from the battle of Patay in 1429.

Historical Note:
Etienne de Vignolles, called La Hire, born 1390 and died in 1443 was a french military commander during the Hundred Years War. He fought alongside Joan of Arc in the campaigns of 1429. His most important action was to lead the vanguard in the important victory at Patay.

La Hire is commemorated as the face of the Jack of Hearts in French playing cards. His name remains a byword for a choleric disposition.

Above you see the 13 resin parts out of the sturdy black box that has become a trademark of Young Kits. Always layered between foam with small parts sealed in a zip-loc plastic bag for protection against loss during shipping.

Conclusion:
Another excellent kit from Young Miniatures featuring his new sculptor Ju Won Jung. Crisp detail as well as good dry-fitting makes this an exceptional kit. Highly recommended plus.

A great review thank you, I like it all but for one thing, the mail I think could have been better defined, instead of squiggly grooves, why not rings, as in Kracken Miniatures - Avalonian Trooper, perhaps I am being a little picky, or have I been spoilt a little by such good quality sculpting....... But it is a good chance to use the Alcad paint again.

Thanks again Guy

Nice review Guy, I am waiting for mine to arrive, it was a little more expensive that the rest of the range for some reason?
Cheers

Thanks for the review Guy. Yet more evidence of Young's superiority in the bust market.

Just wondering if the axe blade should be facing upwards. The weight of the axe blade would almost certainly make it easier to carry it with the blade facing downwards.

It's not a criticism, just an observation.

I've ordered this one, as i love the face ,which is a departure from the norm.I may not use the spikes, although i haven't totally made up my mind just yet,but the armour looks great.
