I finished last weekend this incredible sculpted bust from Yury Serebryakov. As i found Dave Maddox rendition of this bust so great that example would guide me trough it.
As i bought Militaire Modelling where he described his aproch off painting it i "copyed" his additionel sculptwork of the fringes on the jacket.
Dave I hope you don't mind.
The colors are done in oil and only in oil. NO underlayer of acrylic this time. I find that oilcolor is holding great on resin.
Sorry for the blured picture of the eye's, but my camera want allowed me to get closer.
So any comment is welcome, good or bad.

The flesh tones look stellar...very nice. You mentioned that you did not under paint in acrylics before laying on the oils; what color was the resin?

That's right.
Normally i prime and undercoat with acrylic. The primer whas grey.
With resin i see to much that the oilpaint just stick good on the primer. That is what i cannot say about metalfigures.
