Wrapped this 1/8th scale bust of Frank Zappa up yesterday. I'm not totally happy with the pony tail, and I didn't have a great pictorial reference to go by for that part, but the rest I'm quite happy with.

I'm experimenting with Super Sculpey for faces and am quite please with the results. I'm able to crank out a really nice face in about 30 minutes, and my likenesses are coming out much better as a result. The collar and beltline elastic are made from a heavy duty fabric band-aid.

I still have much fine finish work to do, but it's more or less done. I may still go back and take another swing at the pony tail, but I don't know. It's not horrible.

Thanks everyone.

Here's a pic of the pony tail, renarts (I know you from the Fine Scale Modeler Forum!). His hair was generally pretty wild. The pony tail in the pic I used as my main ref showed that it was wild as well. Hard to capture in putty. If I redo it, I'll probably tackle it in sections
