Hi All

Please see the latest release from Bonaparte Military Models. This is a Lakota Sioux Indian Bust, this is cast from resin and was sculped by Richard Bailey. This is 230mm scale and is available now from:

https://www.bonapartesmilitarymodels.co.uk/lakota-sioux-mounted-indian-bust-390-p.asp

This is a limited edition run of no more than 100. This is a large complicated bust that is not for the novice/faint hearted modeller!!

Thanks
Paul

Wow!...I think this is something you need to see close up to be be able to appreciate the detail that has gone into this kit, the sculpting looks really good, it all looks very dynamic, The riders face looks suitably ethnic, I reckon it looks great, but certainly a kit for the figure painter with a lot of stamina to get the job done, it's a real painters challenge, I'm sure the casting will be up to Bonaparte's normal high standard, (y) thumbs up from me.
Cheers
Jim

Very nice and rather large but how on earth do you go about painting that (rhetorical question), it's going to take some planning. I like Richards stuff but I sometimes get the impression that the horses noses are a bit square but would be seriously impressive in any cabinet........dom

Here we go again, tempting one to not only break his piggy bank, but stretch those paint muscles to the max, yikes! Planning is right, but what an incredible outcome it will be. What a magnificent piece. The price really is within reason. Would love to see a full figure set up, that would be sweeeet!

Just having a look at the pics again and I can't work out how the bit is supposed to stay in the mouth, I know Indians had a war bridle but this was different to that in the bust as it was a loop that was put in the mouth and then secured under the chin and then up to the hands but this just appears to be just a bit and reins that would never stay fixed in the mouth...........dom
