hello all, this is my first time posting here so please bear with me as I'm trying to get used to navigating it. I've primarily build armor, dioramas and WWII era figs all my life but I have recently become interested in Napoleonics and medeval eras as well. I'd like some opinions about Latorre Models, primarily LM-5401 & LM-5406. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA. :)

Dan, I have them both but I haven't finished either yet. Blame it on all these manufactures who keep releasing all these wonderful figures! I have ,however, painted several of Latorre's figures and thay are of the BEST quality. Ernesto did a SBS on the highlander here. It's a VERY good SBS chock full of ideas and paint mixes. The grenadier is just as good but a little larger than 54mm (it's advertised as such) in my opinion. In either case Dan, you can't go wrong. Get them both from Gray and a couple of S&T bases to boot. By the way, Iv'e watched and admired your armor and dioramas for years. I used to build armor all the time as well. Like you, I was interested in Napoleonics and attened a seminar by Brett Avants at Mastercon on painting with acrylics and never looked back. Be careful Dan, your'e venturing into the darkside. Hope this helps. If you have ANY questions, ask away. Everyone here is willing to help.

I completely forgot. I knew there was a review of the grenadier somewhere but couldn't remember where. Well I found it and it's painted by Gino Poppe. He's also in here all the time and can answer any questions you might have about it.Here.

Hi Dan,
I really don't think you can go wrong with the quality
of Latorres figures I have painted two Maximus and the Knight of Antioch
The detail is all there waiting to be pulled out with paint.
I am sure the same is so for the two figures you are interested in

Go for it and enjoy your painting

Frank
