Hello Guys,

I wanted to show two in progress pictures from a Andrea Figure. I have asked some questions on the forum of the blue and this is the colour i made with the advice of Einion Rees. First it was to dull so i make some changes with light amounts of ultramarin blue.

Second i used a method that i have learned trough asking and emailing with PATRICK KIRK. I am so glad with this method that i made my decission and for this year i think i only paint with oil.
This method is based on the use of English Destilled Spirit together with the pigments of the oilpaint.
It gives a really manageble oilpaint. When it is on the figure a nice shine comes over it, but a night in the drybox gave's it a totally matt colour.

So, i wanted to know what you guys think about this blue colour and what i have done so far.

Glad to help out...
You might want to consider when it comes to dark colors such as the blue in this jacket, sometimes, subtle highlighting is better. Yours convey's a cold feel and that is tough to pull off. Another way a cool feel can be achieved with mixing of colors to get a cool blue vs a warm blue.

I can say that you make a great progression by starting with oil paints. Marc I think you made the best choice for youre self.

I know, oils work for me the best. So i stay with them. Patrick gave me another great help with the oils. Now it works much smoother than before.
I shall explain it to you at the 22 of march in Antwerp.
