lewis and clark

I'm currently painting lewis and clark. I've did some research but while painting I realized I still didn't know what hair colour they had. I thought one of them was a 'ginger bloke' but I'm not sure.
Does anyone know more?

Meriwether Lewis had black hair and William Clark was the one with red hair, hope this helps.
