This is the Life Miniatures 1/10 bust titled Sea Wolf, WW2 German U Boat captain, painted with Vallejo acrylics.
I painted him while I was on the club table at Tankmod, the the lighting was awful and he ended up with a real prison palor, so added some glazes of red black and marron brown ink, but in daylight he looks too tanned, can't win, I might even repaint just the face.
Anyhoo, I hope you like.

Regards.

Mick.

That looks great Mick. The eyes are outstanding, love the redness around them too.
The "prison palor" might have been more authentic, from my experience in the RN besides being smelly individuals submariners where always a bit pasty looking, they weren't called sun dodgers for nothing. :D

Superbly riveting eyes and a very nicely detailed shirt.
The metal of the binoculars looks most realistic.
Very nice work.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thank you for your comments, looking at the before pictures I prefer them, so repaint it is, I keep trying the loaded brush technique ala Ben Komets but I make a pigs ear of it or make the highlights too bright.
Dan, I know what you mean, I'll darken the beard as the highlights are too surfer dude and not enough Kapitan.
Billy, my dad was in the Andrew and always called the subs pig boats, he did come out with some colourful navy slang sometimes.
I found the unofficial swordfish badge worn by u boat crews at a military show in a box of bits, so it'll be added to the base when I get Bespoke Bases to make one as the bust is based on the captain from Das Boot which was based on U96 from flotilla 2.
Before pictures.
.

Regards.

Mick.
