London painters?

I've been looking around for some time to find a group in my part of the world - that's London, UK, by the way - with a similar interest in figure modelling. Anybody know if any exist? All I've found so far is gaming groups and aeroplane / AFV enthusiasts. London generally has always felt like a bit of desert as far as modelling is concerned.

I looked a little while ago, and came up with exactly the same! .. which was, Diddly-Squat',.. Being in the N/East of London, I looked into the Essex area! .. yet again, nothing there!.. it is a desert!

Thanks for responding, Paul and Tom. I know you're a friendly lot from going to the annual BMSS shows and Euro Militaire for years but I always feel a bit of a fraud due to my zero interest in things military.
( I note the theme for the next Napier Hall evening is 'Militaria' )

Nice that you're interested, Mark. It's difficult to sum up but my website does its best (see link). I guess I'm a bit of a romantic really . . .

Welling Model Club have a very strong group of figure painters. Dave Maddox posts here regularly regarding their model show held in April each year.

Hi Guys,

Are any of you going to Figure World this weekend? If so stop by the stand and have a chat, as there were a couple of figure painters who used to meet in a pub about once a month. But this stopped when we lost the venue.

May be we could doing it again.

I'm SE London

There is a nice bunch of ppl from PlatoonBritannica meeting from time to time in Darksphere near Waterloo station. They're from wargaming background, but evolved into other areas of hobby.
And ofc Welling Club. I didn't get to the meeting yet (still planning to do so), but they were more than nice during the show in April.
