... Can somebody point me in the wright direction here - would like to do a figure or afv model around Belgian SAS in NW Europe in 1944-45, but I do not know much about them ...

thanks

Johan

Hello Johan, Here is a good site on the Belgian SAS: http:/www.be4046.ea/SAS1.htm This site has excellent uniform and insignia details. The posting by Mirofsoft is the Dragon Models #6199 2nd SAS Regiment (France 1944) which you could use to convert to the Belgian SAS. Here is a photo of Belgian SAS soldiers in 44. Hope this helps, Regards, SG

Hi Johan,
You could always reference Alpine's SAS figure. I don't know what I done with my reference pictures when I did this one of Corry's SAS figure. You could use the Denison jump smock or British battle dress as a base for the uniform. Rick's site has all the insignia.
cheers
Richie

You can also look at Ospreys book on the SAS in WWII. I used it recently. From what I could gather you can use just about any WWII Brit paratrooper figure and swap out heads from Hornet or Velinden and you would be good to go. I also searched google and got ton's of reference photo's

.... !!! Now that you mention it - would you believe that I have that figure in my stash and had forgotten about it !!:facepalm:
So I guess my quest for a good figure to represent a Belgian SAS trooper ends there, as this is actually a very nice figure of a SAS trooper , it doesn't get better than this one - it's sculpted by Pete Morton who is I believe known here as the Diamond Cutter.
I think the figure represents one of these guys who drove around behind the lines in 1944 in those jeeps with vickers machine guns on them.

Thank you, and thanks to all for your replies ! (y)
