Hello fellow figureres. I'm making this post because i'm looking for a French Legionary figure, and i would like your suggestions for companies that probably have something. I would like 54mm and i found the one that Andrea Produces: SG-F028. My question for this figure is if i can paint him with the sand color uniform instead of the blue and white.
Thank you all in advance.

Do you want them from any particular period?. Chota Sahib produced four of them, one from the Mexican Expedition, one from the Indochina war ,one from the Algerian war and a sniper from the Kolwezi raid. A French company got the moulds and produced resin castings of those three. I'm sorry not to remember the name of the French company

I don't really have a particular period in my mind. But i would like him to be like the Andrea's one, but with the sand color uniform. If you have seen the Movie: The Legionnaire starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, that's the type of uniform i'm looking for.

P.S. If i'm not mistaken, it should be Legionnaire from North Africa.

I too am a big FFL fan and have a number of them. I don't know of a kit for a full figure, but I believe the Metal Models bust of the WWII Legionnaire might be converted to the post war World War 1 period. United Empire Miniatures has done some excellent busts of the FFL from the Crimea, Tonkien Gulf, WWII Navrik campaign, and Mexican Campaign. The French company that picked up the Chota Sahib molds is DES. Their Mexican War 54mm is one of my all time favorites. LeCimier also did a couple 54mm legionnaires but both were prior to WWI. I for one would love to see the period uniform worn in the movie Legionnaire as well! A bust or a 54mm would be excellent. I also would love to see a figure from Algeria 1950's period wearing the native djellabh and a kepi with sandy drill kepi cover and have the sand googles up on kepi as pictured in Martin Windrow book, Uniforms of the French Foreign Legion 1831-1981.

All we can do is write our favorite manufacturers and make them aware of our interests. UEM really does have some nice busts of the FFL. Check them out at UEM's website at www.unitedempireminiatures.com.

Best of Everything, Terry Martin
